The UltraTrax Challenge in Kinnelon, NJ, is a scenic one-day walking and hiking event through the trails and winding paths of Lake Rickabear. Participants can choose between our 7, 14, 21 and 28 mile distance options. Level up the experience by adding a 10, 20 or 35 pound weighted vest or rucksack to unlock bonus swag. The course will be extremely well marked with a fun post-trek party for everyone to enjoy!
UltraTrax Lake Rickabear is an all-levels event designed for anyone seeking a challenge. Walkers, runners, nature lovers—if you can cover one mile today, we’ll get you to the finish line on September 28th.

This event will have rolling hills with a maximum elevation gain of 200 feet. Participants will encounter varied terrain including rocky trails, lakeside views, creek crossings (won’t need to get wet), beach sand and dirt paths. There will be aid stations with water, electrolytes, snacks and bathrooms located every 2.5 to 3 miles along the course.

Exhilarating Trails: Experience an incredible loop trail across Lake Rickabear's scenic wooded terrain, offering stunning views and varied hiking paths.
All Level Challenge: UltraTrax is designed for beginners and experienced athletes alike. Bring a friend and level up the route by adding weight to carry!
Fun Atmosphere: Enjoy the lively setting with fellow adventurers. Spectators and participants can also enjoy on site activities like zip lines, pickleball, ropes course (weather permitting) and more!
Delicious Food Vendors: Refuel with a variety of food trucks and tasty options available on-site.
TREK DAY INFORMATION
Location: The event will take place at Lake Rickabear Camp, 414 Kinnelon Rd, Kinnelon, NJ 07405
Start Time: The starting line will be open from 7am to 10am
Time to Complete: 10 Hours
Timing Bibs: Bibs can be mailed or picked up the morning of the event. IF YOU REGISTER AFTER 9/17/25 BIBS MUST BE PICKED UP IN PERSON. A friend or relative can pick up a bib if you can't attend.
Parking: Complimentary parking is available at Kinnelon High School (121 Kinnelon Road, Kinnelon, NJ 07405), located 5-10 minutes from the event with shuttles running back and forth the entire day.
Aid Stations: Located every 2.5-3 miles along the course. Will provide water, snacks, electrolytes and toilets.
Weather: Event is rain or shine!
